JR Woodworks

A Brief History

About Me

My name is Jesse Rodgers and I run JR Woodworks. I live in central Pennsylvania with my wife, Katelynn and dog, Gus. I started this in the winter of 2021 while I was attending school at Triangle Tech. Part of what I did at school was woodworking; learning the basic concepts and completing small projects.

I instantly fell in love with it and decided to build my own shop in our warehouse that we operate Tomahawk Construction out of. I went to school to get a better understanding on carpentry, knowing I was starting Tomahawk Construction with my father after I graduated.

As time has gone on, we have gotten more and more custom requests from customers that involve fine woodworking. So, we decided to turn my hobby into a branch of Tomahawk Construction and have JR Woodworks as an additional full time service. I am very excited for this opportunity to work with people and create custom projects for them that they can personalize and cherish for years to come.

What We Do

Here at JR Woodworks we create a variety of pieces that fall under the woodworking category. This involves small items such as coasters and cutting boards, all the way up to big furniture like dining room tables, entertainment stands, and dressers. We have access to many different wood species which helps widen our scope of work to allow us to give you, as a customer, more options. We also work with epoxy resin to create beautiful pieces. From live edge tables to river charcuterie boards, we can incorporate epoxy resin in about anything you would want.

We strive to take your visions and dreams for your custom items, and make them a reality. We take pride in our work and have fun doing it. We genuinely enjoy everything this business entails and want to continue to be a successful business in our community.

Dining Room Table

Awhile back, when I was really getting into woodworking and deep into getting my shop completed, my mother brought up an idea to me about making her a dining room table.  Over the next months, while I was still completing my shop, we would bounce ideas off of each other and eventually we decided to sit down and design the

Workbench Build

This is a Blog in my Custom builds about the workbench I built while I was at Triangle Tech.  While I was there for a degree in Carpentry and Construction, part of the curriculum was to learn the basics of woodworking.  Over the first three semesters I was there, we did many little projects to get ourselves familiar
